Bastone

Inspired by the Ace of Clubs in traditional Italian playing cards, Porchetta Group's wine-focused mozzarella bar featuring hand-made pastas & craft cocktails pays homage to the card set through pattern and the playful use of mirrored images.

Ace of Clubs

Owner and chef Pat Pascarella’s grandfather used to play cards with the family after every get together and and his favorite card was the ace of clubs: the “bastone”. He would slam it down on the table whenever he won “Il Bastone!” We combined the meticulous yet organic nature of hand-made pasta with classic Italian playing cards to create a visual system that feels inviting and familiar with a little edge.
