Grana

Using a from-scratch approach to crafting wood-fired Neapolitan pies, handmade pastas, and traditional Italian specialties, Grana brings the robust "peasant cooking" of southern Italy to Atlanta, Georgia. Inspired by Chef Pat’s family matriarchs, our team created a visual system that honors simplicity –– a feeling of elevated comfort where “the classics” are left untouched.

Two overlapping business cards for Grana, one a deep red with the logo in white, the other a light beige with contact information in a minimalist sans-serif font.

Home of San Gen.

By pairing simplistic and referential design sensibilities with playfully honest copywriting, we were able to create a brand that felt timelessly Italian and loaded with personality.

Brought to you by Grana & The Porchetta Group, Atlanta’s own down & dirty, unapologetically “Italian as F***!” take on the traditionally New York festival of San Gennaro. Our team created a playfully clever approach that “defaces” the traditional and rethinks what it means to celebrate loudly.

Combining revered imagery of Saint Gennaro with something a little more… raw, we’ll say, we were able to give our brand mascot a facelift––bringing him into the modern-day vernacular. Playful nods to street graffiti and iconic food cart signs gives this concept a uniquely modern and youthful perspective on an age-old tradition.
