October – Fall 2023

Warm and toasty hills to die on.

With fall comes newness (even though we definitely said that about Spring, too 😬, but what is Fall if not just Spring in reverse?)––with things like leaves changing color (dying), the weather cooling down (summer dying), and pumpkin spice making its return (our wallets dying). There’s potentially a funny death/life joke/analogy here, but truthfully I (Justin) have just recently started playing The Sims and my Sim (who is literally just Edward Cullen) just got the “Fear of Death” trait (IYKYK) so maybe that’s why it’s on the brain.

That being said, things are lively here at the Box 8 office. We’re still humbly waiting on that Nespresso sponsorship, and in the meantime we’ve been busy making cool stuff. We have a handful or two of new branding projects that we had to kill our typical “Just Started, Just Finished, Just Launched” section. This time it’s going to be Just Started, Just Started, Just Started, Just Started, Just Started, Just Started, Just Started, Just Started. Is that too much??? No never. It’s fall, we can do what we want––PSL in hand 😤

News

While we did not succeed at snapping a pic of everyone in time, we did succeed at crafting their likenesses as Sims. We are so creative. It is almost as if we do this daily. Everyone cheer for Hayden, Diana, and Hannah––that kinda rhymed 😎.

Welcome, Hayden!
Everyone cheer for Hayden who recently joined the Box 8 design team. Hayden is a designer and illustrator with a few fun facts that are actually fun facts: They not only once played in the Pokemon World Championships, but they also “used to be deathly afraid of Russian stacking dolls.”

🪆BOO! (Just testing 🤔)

Fall Interns
Welcome Diana, our fall design intern! Diana enjoys rock climbing (great, we’re on the 2nd floor and have stairs), reading science fiction (perfect, we get weird spam emails sometimes), and looking at things under a microscope (awesome, maybe she can find a better joke to write than this one was…). We’re excited to have fresh perspectives join us this fall!

Welcome Hannah, our fall interior design intern. Correct, “interior design.” The cords on the floor Jeremy is obsessing about in addition to us taking what––a year?–– to mount the TV might lead you to believe we don’t know much about interior design of the office, but we do have one or two well-placed plants… Hannah’s interested in learning more about the design and creative process, especially for restaurants, and has joined us this fall!

Vote for us!
So this is kinda crazy, but you should vote for us. Not only because we're nominated for Vendor of the Year at the
CRAzies Awards, but also because we have a sweet bike and are like the only kid in school with a mustache. Heck yes!

Thank you for the nomination and continued support from our amazing clients. We couldn’t do it (the mustache) without you ❤️.

Current Projects

Just Started: Market Hospitality Group

We’re exited to be working with Market Hospitality Group on their pantheon of iconic restaurants. We’re currently working on rebranding Blu Pointe Prime, Marketplace Kitchen, and Mercato, with Marketplace Tavern and the Restaurant Group up next. We’re also diving into their new taco concept, Beso. As always, we’ll report back. You know we love to show off cool stuff.

Just Started, too: Union Kitchen

If you haven’t been to Union Kitchen yet, we highly recommend. Union prides themselves on genuine passion for people, food, and service. We’re refreshing Union’s visual identity into something equal parts playful and classic fine-dining with a focus on warmth and service.

Just Started (also): Southern Grace

We’re excited to be working with the iconic “two-handed biscuit” joint in Atlanta, Southern Grace. Our goal is to create a timeless and wholesome visual identity inspired by classic Southern Charm™️.

Until next time.

As you may have seen on Instagram (@box8creative)––if you’re a real one––for some reason there was a question of the most superior Poptarts flavor (Hey, we’ll also accept a sponsorship here as well. Big fans. Huge.) within the office. Some people (Zeb) thought fruit was superior, and unfortunately some people (Zeb) are wrong! Strange, but I guess dying on a hill fits the theme of this season’s newsletter. Sadly, he’s on that hill in question alone, on the wrong side of history. Let us know your thoughts on which tart you pop when you need to pop a tart.

If Poptarts aren’t your jam (weird, but okay…) then maybe we could interest you in a nice, warm Client Feedback Survey. We are once again asking you to let us know how we did!

See you next time!
