Alvarium Beer Company

A better world through beer.

Originally approached for a new beer packaging system, we worked with Alvarium to expand their brand assets to give them a more diverse visual identity. The original round logo proved difficult to read on store shelves, so we extracted the hand-drawn style from the original design and formatted it into a horizontal wordmark to increase its legibility.

From there, we broke down the logo from a beehive into a single bee with the negative letter A made from the bee’s abdomen. Expanding even further, we created a variety of additional badges and wordmarks to help complete the system.

With the new brand assets refreshed, we could rethink packaging and improve shelf presence. We simplified the number of fonts being used and created a strict template for all labels for consistency. Each label is now brainstormed, sketched, and hand-drawn by talented illustrators on our team. With these unique illustrations, Alvarium stands out from other brands but still has a similar look and feel between each of its labels.
